Why are pink diamonds so expensive?

Pink diamonds are exceptionally rare — only 1 in 10,000 carats mined is a natural pink diamond. The closure of the Argyle mine, which produced 90% of the world's supply, has made them even scarcer. Their unique formation mechanism (crystal lattice distortion) cannot be artificially replicated, making each natural pink diamond a true geological rarity.

Are lab-grown pink diamonds available?

Yes — lab-grown pink diamonds offer the same vivid colour at a fraction of the natural price. While they lack the investment value and geological rarity of natural pinks, they are physically and optically identical. We stock both natural and lab-grown pink diamonds.

The closure of Australia's Argyle mine in 2020 — which produced approximately 90% of the world's pink diamonds — has made these stones even more scarce and valuable.
